AllThingsForGood Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 I have a client (small plan, 401(k)) for whom I have e-filed the 5500SF each year. They no longer use my services, and wish to file an amended 2022 Form 5500-SF. Can they: create EFAST filing credentials, then immediately file an amended 5500? I imagine the answer is "yes", but I am totally unfamiliar with that process, since I file all of my clients' 5500s myself. Thank you!
Paul I Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 They can get signing credentials here https://www.efast.dol.gov/portal/app/welcome and use the credentials immediately for a filing. Let's hope they know the potential implications of changing the information in the original filing. This could wind up like giving an 8 year old a power drill who proceeds to drill holes in anything and everything is sight.
AllThingsForGood Posted October 8, 2024 Author Posted October 8, 2024 Paul, I totally agree with you and have stated my concerns several times. Thank you for the reply.
