Excerpt: While the legislation does not require that employers provide mental heath coverage, it does mandate equality in coverage at those companies with more than 50 employees who already offer both kinds of benefits. Plans can no longer require higher co-pays, higher deductibles, or lower lifetime or annual dollar limits for mental health than for physical and surgical coverage.
