One solution can be found in the addition of plan auto-enrollment and auto-escalation features.... [A]ccumulated data suggests that a 5-6% default deferral rate with a 2% annual acceleration up to a cap of at least 10-12% significantly improves the likelihood of successful retirement outcomes while maintaining participation levels well above the national average."
