"According to the AP, 'Pharmaceutical companies spend an estimated $20.4 billion on these activities each year and then track doctors' prescribing patterns to gauge the return on their investment.' $20.4 billion each year. It makes you wonder if that's part of the 'investment' that pharmaceutical executives refer to when attempting to justify the high prices of their drugs."
