New EPCU Project: Favorable Letter/Non-Filer Project
Internal Revenue Service [IRS] Link to more items from this source
Mar. 11, 2016
"Why did I receive an EPCU Compliance Check Letter? [Answer:] Your sponsored plan received a Favorable Determination Letter (FDL) but a Form 5500 series return was not filed for your plan.... A review of Form 5500 series returns showed that there are plans that received a FDL but did not file a Form 5500 series return. Plans subject to ERISA are required to file an annual Form 5500 series return. Non-ERISA Plans covering a 100% business owner or one or more partners, and their spouses are required to file a Form 5500-EZ if their year-end assets are greater than $250,000."
