AndyH Posted August 27, 2003 Posted August 27, 2003 A quick look at the Conference brochure tells me that Board regulars Tom Poje, Mike Preston, and MGB are all doing sessions this October. Any other regulars, perhaps disguised, also doing a session?
MGB Posted August 27, 2003 Posted August 27, 2003 By the way, for those that don't know my full name (Mark Beilke), I am doing the session with Ed Burrows on the future outlook for changes in funding (Ed) and accounting (me) requirements.
Tom Poje Posted August 27, 2003 Posted August 27, 2003 gee Andy, I don't think anybody has ever referred to me as a 'regular'. I've heard other terms, such as 'oddball' and 'wierd', etc. Oh, and hopefully I will be in 'disguise' for the talk, never could do anything normal!
AndyH Posted August 27, 2003 Author Posted August 27, 2003 Tom, the brochure advertises a song. Perhaps you'd like to preview the lyrics here?
Tom Poje Posted August 27, 2003 Posted August 27, 2003 no preview. a few years ago I did a version of Old MacDonald. I might repeat that one as an extra. The original version of Yesterday, way back before the Beatles became popular, back when they were working in the pension industry (you didn't know that?)- well anyway, they recorded a song encouraging people to defer. Hmmm, I think they did one about defined benefit plans, though most of that song has been lost. I 'discovered' one verse of it - I'll keep looking, maybe I'll discover the rest of it.
KJohnson Posted August 27, 2003 Posted August 27, 2003 Got To Get You Into My Life (Expectancy) Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except For Me and My Non-Spouse Beneficiary?
Tom Poje Posted August 27, 2003 Posted August 27, 2003 I'm not giving any clues as to the defined benefit. and the song doesn't contain the lines "Will you still need me, when I'm 64" though I had thought about that as a pension song.
Belgarath Posted August 27, 2003 Posted August 27, 2003 How about this? (sung to the tune of Wonderful World ) Don't know much about 410(b), Don't know eligibility, Don't know much about ERISA rules, Except they make us all look like fools. But I do know, if TPA's, Got free updates from Relius and BLAZE, What a wonderful world this would be.
Erik Read Posted August 28, 2003 Posted August 28, 2003 I'm liking this thread - reminds me of other fabulous pension singers - S. Derrin Watson comes to mind with his lunch session lyrics at the Summer Academy. __________________ Erik Read, APR CKC
