tuni88 Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 For our DB plan, how long can I wait until I must provide a vested terminated employee with a letter informing him of his vested pension amount (and all the other stuff)? I've been doing it pretty much immediately up to now but I suspect I don't have to be that nice.
david rigby Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 1. If there is a pattern of rehires, don't do it early. 2. The ERISA requirement is that the VT be put on the Schedule SSA for the plan year following the plan year in which DOT occurred, and that your notification to the VT occur on or before this date.
