Medusa Posted January 3, 2002 Posted January 3, 2002 After 2001, we must use the new Form 5310 to submit a terminating plan for a DL. However, that form does not appear to have been released yet. Has anyone received any advice about what we are supposed to do in the meantime, or as to when the new form will be released?
Guest pineapple Posted January 3, 2002 Posted January 3, 2002 The IRS has indicated that until the revised form is finalized, you should continue to use the prior version. (The IRS website indicates that the revised Form 5310 is scheduled for release on January 10, but I would take that with a grain of salt.)
Medusa Posted January 3, 2002 Author Posted January 3, 2002 Thank you for your prompt response! I don't suppose you know anything about the new SS-4???
Guest pineapple Posted January 3, 2002 Posted January 3, 2002 Actually, the IRS website indicates that the revised SS-4 will also be issued on January 10! I have a copy of the draft form (with the draft watermark removed) available in PDF format if you would like. Also, in case you were not aware, effective January 2 the IRS has set up a new toll-free number to obtain EIN's. The number is 1-866-816-2065, and is available Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm (I'm not sure what time zone they're in). PS: here's the link to the draft forms on the IRS website. http://www.irs.ustreas.gov/prod/bus_info/t...ro/dftform.html
Medusa Posted January 3, 2002 Author Posted January 3, 2002 That PDF SS-4 sans watermark sure would be great. I will send you a "private message" with the e-mail address.
Guest pineapple Posted January 3, 2002 Posted January 3, 2002 In case anyone else would like the fillable form, it is attached as a zip file. Unzip it and it should be a fillable PDF.
