Guest Clain Posted January 25, 2002 Posted January 25, 2002 Has there been any change to the 457b distribution rules to allow for an in-service distribution other than for hardship or purchase of service credit? For example, are in-service distribution available at age 59 1/2, such as is available in qualified plans that allow for such?
Carol V. Calhoun Posted January 28, 2002 Posted January 28, 2002 The only real change in the in-service distribution rules is that you can now transfer money from a 457(B) plan to a defined benefit plan to purchase service credit while still employed. However, that change allows only for a transfer, not a distribution.
