Guest PALAWYER Posted December 2, 1998 Posted December 2, 1998 The IRC requires full vesting upon termination of a qualfied plan...must you grant full vesting on termination of a non-qualfied plan?
Guest Harry O Posted December 3, 1998 Posted December 3, 1998 Not unless the terms of the plan require it . . . which typically they do . . .
Guest bswift Posted December 9, 1998 Posted December 9, 1998 I agree with Harry O except that most deferred comp plans i've seen do not require full vesting on termination. Even if the plan did not require vesting on termination, the employer could always so provide at the time the plan is terminated. Good luck.
