I am working with version 6.0 and was wondering how I could override the NRA and RA for a particular individual in the plan. I am also having trouble with an accrued top heavy benefit calculation. The top heavy accrual is supposed to be based on a 5 year salary average but the system seems to insist on using a 3 year average.

Any help would be appreciated........pp

NRA is set by eligibility based on the NR date (I'm not sure what you mean by RA vs. NRA). To change the NRA, reverse eligibility and set the correct retirement date. If this date is different from what the system will calculate you can modify the eligiblity transaction and select 'No overwrite of existing dates' so the date you entered will be used.

You could also just override NRA after running eligibility - although if you reverse and rerun eligibility the age will be reset.

Check the top heavy compensation average definition (on the compensation form, 'Top heavy averaging' frame underneath the 'Averaging' frame) to make sure it's set as high 5. Also, on the historical compenstion tab in Census the compensations must be flagged with 'Y' in the 'Top heavy credit' column to be picked up.

Hope this helps.
