Guest KCW Posted December 17, 2002 Posted December 17, 2002 As the subject of this message suggests, I'm looking for a record keeping system for our DC and DB plans. Is there anything you can tell me about BLAZE SSI?
Guest awoj Posted January 7, 2003 Posted January 7, 2003 Blaze is a good system for balance forward/traditional plans. The firm I previously worked for used Blaze for balance forward cases, and another software for Daily valuation (they also used Blaze for the Daily cases that needed a New Comp allocation done -- they just didn't maintain account balance information in Blaze). Blaze's new comp testing, 410(B), deductibility tests, etc. all work nicely. Blaze does try to keep the software up to date with the changing laws. They released an update to make Safe-Harbor 401(k) plans easier to run than before. They also have functions for the new gateway tests for New Comp plans (although, if you have a multi group New comp plan that doesn't intend on maximizing, it may get a little tricky, but I didn't get to dig much into one of those before I started with a new company that uses SRT). I would recommend it, but it is a software that takes a little getting used to. Perhaps not as user friendly as others. Hope this helps.
