Guest Ann Marie Hegy Posted May 6, 2003 Posted May 6, 2003 Are there any real good up to date 403(b) training manuals (specifically for plans sponsored by 501©(3) tax exempt entities) worth purchasing that would have calculation examples for compliance testing?
Ellie Lowder Posted May 7, 2003 Posted May 7, 2003 The 403(b) & 457(b) Primer Plus might be of help to you - while it is devoted to both ERISA and Non-ERISA 403(b) plans plus 457(b) plans, one of the 11 chapters does deal with nondiscrimination rules. Kristi Cook and I co-authored the book. You can view the contents to see if it is of interest in the Benefits Link bookstore.
jevd Posted May 8, 2003 Posted May 8, 2003 Aspen Publishers also has a 403(b) answer book check this site http://www.aspenpublishers.com/default.asp Also http://www.403bwise.com/ is another good site for 403(b) information. JEVD Making the complex understandable.
Guest Yanikoski Posted May 9, 2003 Posted May 9, 2003 The 403b) & 457(b) Primer Plus (Ellie Lowder & Kristi Cook) is the best thing out there for the practitioner and marketer. It addresses broader issues and does so from the point of view of someone really trying to serve these markets. The 403(b) Answer Book is also a great resource, but is best used to answer specific, technical questions. It provides extensive legal references for its answers and is highly reliable. Both books are great, and each covers some of what the other does, but they are not substitutes for one another. If you're serious about this business, you should have both of them!
