Guest JJones Posted July 16, 2003 Posted July 16, 2003 I am searching for a variable annuity carriers that offer living benefit riders and accept 457 plans. Can anyone suggest any carriers?
Guest bdodge1 Posted October 10, 2003 Posted October 10, 2003 Hartford does 457(b) plans. Manulife does but must be Municipality and cannot be a Non-Profit corp. Manulife has thier own Prototype Plan Doc for it. Scudder accepts 457 monies. All use the same platform as their 401(k) plans. American Funds accept 457, but have no platform, so a TPA would be used. If you know of others I am searching for the same info. as well as the steps needed to move a group's plan from the State 457 Deferred Comp plan to a private 457 plan (or to a 401(k) or 403(b) if that can be done). Please let me know - thanks.
Guest jyounan Posted November 18, 2003 Posted November 18, 2003 You may wish to also contact Diversified Investment Advisors, Inc. - they handle 457s and 403(b)s - no TPA is required. Please let me know if you need a contact
Ron Snyder Posted November 19, 2003 Posted November 19, 2003 MetLife is big in 457. Also VALIC. (Both are top 10) Ameritas is smaller but more flexible with their 457 annuity. I am not sure that the living benefit rider has been filed for anyone's 457 plan. The following website lists companies with living benefit riders: http://www.annuityfyi.com/website/ca1e_living_benefit.html Companies listed include: ING (ES II, DVA Plus, Landmark, Premium Plus) EQUITABLE (Accumulator, Accumulator Plus, Elite, Select) METLIFE (Series VA, Series XC, Series L, Series C) SCUDDER (Wealthmark, Wealthmark ML3) AMERICAN SKANDIA (ASAP 2, XT-6, APEX, ASL) MANULIFE (Venture, Venture Vantage, Venture III) To the best of my knowledge, none of the annuities listed are available through 457 plans. You may also try Fidelity. Perhaps someone from NAVA can help you. http://www.navanet.org/
