Guest Sean Posted May 19, 1999 Posted May 19, 1999 In regards to both employer & employee contributions to a 403(B) plan when must the payments be made. The fiscal year of the company is calendar. Employees do have monies withheld to be deposited into the plan on a semi-monthly basis.

The rules vary depending on whether the plan is one subject to ERISA, or is a governmental or church plan exempt from ERISA. (Private employers' plans can also be exempt from ERISA if they have no employer contributions and meet certain other requirements, but the facts you set out indicate that there are employer contributions.) ------------------------ Employee benefits legal resource site
Guest Kate Winkler Posted June 10, 1999 Posted June 10, 1999 How long does my employer have to send my contribution in to my 403B plan after it is deducted from my check. I am paid every 2 weeks. I work for a not for profit Hospice and the employer has the OPTION to contribute once a year if the board approves the contributuion. I have noted on my quarterly statements transaction dates up to 28 days later. ------------------
Guest WBrown Posted June 15, 1999 Posted June 15, 1999 If your plan is subject to ERISA, then the deadline for contributing your salary deferrals is supposed to be as soon as practicable, but no later than the 15th of the month after the money is deducted from your pay. If your plan has only deferrals in it and is not subject to ERISA, then that rule doesn't apply. There may be something in the contract held by the annuity provider that describes when "premiums" are due to the provider.
