Cost to terminate plan...

What do people charge to terminate a plan (basic PS plan with 10 participants) ?

and, does anyone ever Not file form 5310... simply file a final 5500?

Client is balking at my fee... maybe he should drop the cost of a root canal from $750 to $200, talk about a racket!

As for the submission, most of my clients choose not to submit. We give them the pros/cons and let them decide. Personally, I don't see a tremendous amount of value in it for most of my clients.

Please don't answer. IMHO, an important characteristic of this venue is to avoid any taint of price fixing.

I couldn't disagree more that this in any way could be considered price fixing if fee information is shared. With all the variables that come into setting prices and the fact that it's one person out of literally thousands sharing information, IMHO that's one giant leap for sure.

huh... I apologize if I committed a faux pas... should I not discuss fees? I dont see how any price fixing could come from it.

As for filing a 5310 for this client, I did give him the option and told him that I have simply filed a final 5500 for other clients.. but felt it was my obligation to tell him. I have never had any problems not filing form 5310.. but now that I have said it I am sure I will.
