Guest guppy Posted May 21, 2004 Posted May 21, 2004 The first filing for a plan was completed in a timely manner, but there were a couple clerical errors on the form - EIN was wrong and Plan name was wrong (premium amount was correct). Is it best to just wait until the next filing due date (10/15/04), change the EIN on the form and provide an attachment to the PBGC or should the sponsor contact the PBGC now (I'm afraid this might cause more confusion). I believe the instructions only address amended filing for over/under payments. Your thoughts?
Guest flogger Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 I notice you're not getting any replies on this issue, so let me offer my experience with the PBGC. The best way to get things done there is to call them and find some person who will personally fix this for you. I would do this before filing the next report. The hard part is getting someone to help you, but I can say from experience that this is actually possible if you persist. And you're persistence will pay off, because if you don't fix it, you will be in the PBGC fix-it whirlpool. Once you find someone, make sure to direct your communication to him/her. If you can't find someone, their conflict resolution coordinator will direct you to someone. Good luck.
