sloble@crowleyfleck.com Posted September 12, 2004 Posted September 12, 2004 Looks like I'll be working with 403(b)s and I have very little experience with them. Can anyone point me to some good resources to star educating myself--preferably free/internet.
Appleby Posted September 12, 2004 Posted September 12, 2004 See IRS Publication 571 at http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p571.pdf Life and Death Planning for Retirement Benefits by Natalie B. Choatehttps://www.ataxplan.com/life-and-death-planning-for-retirement-benefits/ www.DeniseAppleby.com
Lori Friedman Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 Here's a proprietary publication that's very concise and helpful: http://www.aspenpublishers.com/Product.asp...t_id=0735531781 Lori Friedman
GBurns Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 In what context will you be working? Administration, selling plans, selling product within the plans? George D. Guest Yanikoski Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 I'm partial to the 403(b)/457 Primer Plus, by Ellie Lowder and Kristi Cook. Although other references do a great job of explaining the rules, the Lowder/Cook publication puts them in context and gives advice about a large variety of situations in plain English. If you sign up for the update service, you will receive updates in the mail from time to time. You can order it from the National Tax Sheltered Accounts Assoc. website (www.ntsaa.org).
sloble@crowleyfleck.com Posted September 14, 2004 Author Posted September 14, 2004 Thanks for the helpful resources. GBurns--I will be working with other attorneys to advise about the legal requirements, update plan documents, etc.
GBurns Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 Well then the references that were given will give you what you need. I would lean towards the book by Ellie Lowder and Kristi Cook.
