Guest Fred Maynard Posted February 15, 2005 Posted February 15, 2005 Can a DB plan's vesting schedule for top-heavy plan years be a five year graded? 2yrs (20%), 3 yrs (40%), 4 yrs (60%), 5 yrs (100%).
david rigby Posted February 15, 2005 Posted February 15, 2005 Yes. The vesting schedules in IRC 411 and IRC 416 are minimum requirements. A plan can always use a more generous schedule. I'm a retirement actuary. Nothing about my comments is intended or should be construed as investment, tax, legal or accounting advice. Occasionally, but not all the time, it might be reasonable to interpret my comments as actuarial or consulting advice.
