katieinny Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 How are voting rights handled relating to employer securities held by a minority shareholder in his IRA? Shouldn't the custodian vote the shares?
Guest John Nelson Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 I think you should get a copy of the IRA trust or custodial agreement and see what it says about who votes securities.
mbozek Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 Every IRA agreement I have ever seen places all rights under the IRA with the IRA owner, because the custodian only performs ministerial tasks. mjb
