Guest jd Posted December 8, 1998 Posted December 8, 1998 can you convert 401(k) funds into a traditional IRA and then into a Roth IRA? Also, can you move the after-tax dollars in the 401(k) into a Roth IRA somehow?
BPickerCPA Posted December 8, 1998 Posted December 8, 1998 You can do transfer of a 401(k) into a traditional IRA and then into a Roth. You cannot transfer after tax money into an IRA or into a Roth. Barry Picker, CPA/PFS, CFP New York, NY www.BPickerCPA.com
