PMC Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 Does anyone know the current OA portion of the current OASDI rate?
txdd Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 According to the SSA web site, OASI is 5.3% and DI is 0.9%.
GBurns Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 I am curious as to what you would use these rates for especially the OAS part? By the way, the rates given were for employees. It is different for self employeds. George D. PMC Posted April 5, 2006 Author Posted April 5, 2006 GBurns - re- your question what would the rate be used for - in connection with allocating a PS contribution via permitted disparity. Someone was arguing that the disparity could be the OASDI rate 6.2% because that was greater than 5.7%, and we were telling them it's the greater of the Old Age portion of the OASDI rate and it isn't greater than 5.7%. Just wanted to know what part of the 6.2% was represented by the OA part. Thanks for the responses.
