Electronic Beneficiary Designations

Just trying to find out if any of you work with plans that let participants manage beneficiary designations online. For those with spousal consent requirements I assume you are still requiring paper?

Just curious to see what is being done out there.

We allow participants to enter the beneficiaries into online system. The one plan that requires spousal consent has that message on the screen, and tells the participant to request the paper form and send it in. If they do not do so the designation is invalid.
