Guest kbett Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Can participants move their assets to 401K -- in the event of frozen 403b plan?
TLGeer Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 Can participants move their assets to 401K -- in the event of frozen 403b plan? How is the 403(b) funded? Why have they opted to move to a 401(k)? I don't generally vies that as a good idea. Tom Geer Thomas L. Geer, J.D., LL.M. Guest kbett Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 Funded through participant contribution and employer match -- why don't you think it's a good idea? The new 401k will be under safe harbor
Guest BobK Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 In order to move the assets out of the 403(b) arrangement, there would have to be a distributable event (such as termination of employment, attaining age 59 1/2, etc). Freezing the arrangement is not a distributable event.
