mariemonroe Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 A plan offers the following distribution options: lump sum and installments. The plan wants to get rid of the installment option. Currently, there are no installment payments being made to any participants/beneficiaries. Can the plan jettison the installment option pursuant to 411(d)(6)(E)?
Guest Guest_12ax7_* Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 You should be able to have the plan amended to remove this form of benefit. It is not protected.
Effen Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 Why do you say it is not protected? Is this a DB or DC plan?
