flosfur Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 The S417 interest rates for a given month are contained in the IRS notices which are generally published towards the end of the month following the month for which the rates are applicable. I need to do a payout calculation now where the look back month is December 2007 but I have been unable to find the December 2007 rates. The IRS notice with the December's S417 rates won't come out untill the end of January. Where can I find these rates ahead of the IRS notice?
Effen Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 The December rate was 4.53 http://www.irs.gov/retirement/article/0,,id=96450,00.html The material provided and the opinions expressed in this post are for general informational purposes only and should not be used or relied upon as the basis for any action or inaction. Guest SVP Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 that's the 30-yr treasury rate which is at this point the former 417(e)(3) rate. THe PPA rates for dec aren't out yet as far as I know and I know of no way to determine them yourself.
SoCalActuary Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 You have just illustrated the problem of a one-month lookback period. Why keep it?
zimbo Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Rates were just published on Friday January 11th. I believe they can be found through the Benefitlink Newsletter of Friday. The 417(e) segment rates for December are 4.61%,4.85%, and 4.96%.
