Below Ground Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 If Form 8905 was signed saying the employer intended to adopt the Volume Submitter of Document Vendor XYZ, does that mean that the employer must adopt the Volume Plan of XYZ? Could the employer instead adopt the Volume Plan of Document Vendor ABC? Oh yeah, employer was previously using the prototype of NOP. Thanks. Having braved the blizzard, I take a moment to contemplate the meaning of life. Should I really be riding in such cold? Why are my goggles covered with a thin layer of ice? Will this effect coverage testing? QPA, QKA
JanetM Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 My understanding is you only file the 8905 with IRS if you are also submitting for your own determination letter. If you are simply relying on the M&P or VS letter you just have to keep to keep in on file. If you signed form intending to adopt the XXZ plan but never adopted it, and then moved to new provider and adopted the ABC. I would just keep the NOP, and ABC forms to show the continuity.
