Lori H Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 is it an option? I know you can roll a roth 401(k) or 401(k) after paying taxes into a roth ira, but is the reverse true as well?

No, it's currently not provided for by the Code. Guess they didn't think "portability" thru on that one. Guest allancoleman Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Really wouldn't make any sense either , Lori , cause the Roth 401(k) is subject to required minium distributions ( RMD ) while the Roth IRA is not . And your same basic question on another board : http://www.bogleheads.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21603
