KSBRPEN Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Cross-Testing, Corbel document, using Relius Software. Does the Mortality Table you use in cross-testing have to be consistent from year to year. I don't see table defined in document, so if i get a better result using a different table than last year is it ok to use the different table?
AndyH Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Absolutely, if it is one of the "standard tables" in 1.401(a)(4).
Mike Preston Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 In case it isn't clear, Andy's response means that the answer to the first question is "NO" and the answer to the second question is "YES."
AndyH Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 My thanks to EF Hutton for completing my inadvertent half answer. Now, my zen question of the day. The 'applicable mortality table" for 417(e) is among the standard tables. Is it still standard even if it is no longer the 417(e) applicable table, e.g. is 1983 GAM M/F blended a standard table in a 2008 test?
AndyH Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Off the top of my head, I'd say no. I guess that woujld make it either an "ex-standard table" or a "table formerly known as standard".
K2retire Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Off the top of my head, I'd say no. I guess that woujld make it either an "ex-standard table" or a "table formerly known as standard". The latter is clearly more poetic!
