Guest scotlyn911 Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 The COBRA notice regarding the second-chance election period under the ARRA is due 60 days after the date of enactment. The ARRA was enacted February 17. Sixty days from Feb. 17 is April 18. April 18 is a Saturday. Does anyone know the rule on whether this means the notice is actually due?
Guest Sieve Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 There likely will be some additional guidance when the model notice is issued within 30 days after enactment of ARRA, but I would suspect that the deadline is April 18 (Saturday or not) rather than the next business day. I don't think many notices will go out prior to the issuance of the model notice.
