ERISA-Bubs Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Can anyone verify for me whether or not the new pension funding relief provisions of the Preservation of Access to Care for Medicare Beneficiaries and Pension Relief Act of 2010 apply to governmental plans? Thank you!
david rigby Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 There is nothing in the act that provides different application for government plans. I'm a retirement actuary. Nothing about my comments is intended or should be construed as investment, tax, legal or accounting advice. Occasionally, but not all the time, it might be reasonable to interpret my comments as actuarial or consulting advice.
My 2 cents Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Am I missing something? From what minimum funding requirements would governmental plans need relief? Which is not to say that governmental plans are not in need of adequate funding! Always check with your actuary first!
