HiVi Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 Does anybody have a formula for converting a life only annuity into a cash value annuity? Thanks!
david rigby Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 Cash value annuity? What do you mean? I'm a retirement actuary. Nothing about my comments is intended or should be construed as investment, tax, legal or accounting advice. Occasionally, but not all the time, it might be reasonable to interpret my comments as actuarial or consulting advice.
Andy the Actuary Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 If you mean full cash refund annuity, see Life Contingencies, Chester Jordan, Chapter 7. P.S. It's an algorithm rather than a formula and you haven't experienced true joy until you manually completed a columnar worksheet with the help of a mechanical comptometer to solve this monster. Ata, is that what is on your head, a mechanical comptometer, or is it what modern meter maids use to make us mad? Somehow I suspect the original question is at a much more basic level. But maybe I'm wrong.

david rigby Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 A good way to solve this problem is to hire an actuary. I'm a retirement actuary.
