Cash value annuity?

What do you mean?

I'm a retirement actuary. Nothing about my comments is intended or should be construed as investment, tax, legal or accounting advice. Occasionally, but not all the time, it might be reasonable to interpret my comments as actuarial or consulting advice.

If you mean full cash refund annuity, see Life Contingencies, Chester Jordan, Chapter 7.

P.S. It's an algorithm rather than a formula and you haven't experienced true joy until you manually completed a columnar worksheet with the help of a mechanical comptometer to solve this monster.

Ata, is that what is on your head, a mechanical comptometer, or is it what modern meter maids use to make us mad?

Somehow I suspect the original question is at a much more basic level. But maybe I'm wrong.

A good way to solve this problem is to hire an actuary.
