Guest Matt_S Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Hi all, I have a few smaller clients now that have terminated in January/February 2011 and wish to take care of everything ASAP to close out the plan. Does the Relius software, when transmitting to the DOL, convert the FilingForPlanYear field (along with corresponding PlanYearBegin Month/Day/Year info) into the correct XML language to allow me to publish a 2011 plan year Form 5500/schedules on the 2010 Form? The reason that I ask is that I have one client that was able to do that successfully it seems, but I have another client that receives the X-048 ERROR message: Fail when Filing Header, Form Year does not match Filing Header, Plan Year Begin, unless the Filing Header Prior Year Indicator is set to 1. Both the unsuccessfully filed and successfully filed versions show up under the 2010 Form Year (drop-down option) and also show the Plan Year to be 2010 (under the planbook search views) - rather than 2011. At this point I can't figure out a difference between the successful and unsuccessful planbooks. Any thoughts? Thanks!

BG5150 Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Did you call Relius support? QKA, QPA, CPC, ERPATwo wrongs don't make a right, but three rights make a left.
Guest Matt_S Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Is the X-048 error a Relius error message or a DOL error message? I'm not sure actually. I haven't seen any list of DOL error codes published thus far. Did you call Relius support? Yes - still waiting for them to get back to me on the issue....
TPAVP Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 We are having the same issue only with another software vendor. Does this mean we have to file directly through IFILE??
austin3515 Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 When is the 2011 form coming out?? Or are you guys just adding the 2011 date range to the 2010 5500? Austin Powers, CPA, QPA, ERPA
TPAVP Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 We have been unsuccessful in trying to file the final 2011 on a 2010 Form. We tried filing with our software vendor as well as directly with IFILE. I'm wondering what everyone else has been doing. I hear the 2011 forms will not be out until June........
pmacduff Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 agriffith I'm wondering if you ever heard on this? Did you get it to work using the 2010 form and changing the dates to 2011? thanks in advance!

No. We have not heard anything yet. We did just sit through a webinar by Janice Wegesin who also advises filing a short 2011 form on a 2010 report, but we have not been successful in that as of yet.
pmacduff Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 ok thanks. I'm waiting on one last bit of information (Schedule A) and as soon as I have that, I'm going to give it a try. I will let you know how it goes.
austin3515 Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 On FT Williams software there is a box you have to check to idnciate that "this is a prior year filing." I had the exact same problem, and this fixed it. Also, we used Relius last year, and I think that if on the plan information screen you put 2011 in the "Filing for Plan Year" (or something like that) that this would work as well. Might want to submit an incident and ask whoever your vendor is, but there does need to be a way to tell your software what you are doing, so that EFAST2 can be alerted on how to process it. pmacduff Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Thanks Austin. I, too, use FT William software. I have a question on your post, however - you mention to check the box "this is a prior year filing" but it isn't a "prior" year it's "current" year (2011 in 2010). Does that make any difference? I have changed all the dates in the forms to 2011.
austin3515 Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 oops... Just ask them what to do their customer service is AWESOME. Austin Powers, CPA, QPA, ERPA
