Guest Marc685 Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 Does anyone know if I am allowed to invest in a Roth IRA while on disability (private LTD insurance + social security insurance) or invest in any kind of tax advantaged retirement plan? Thanks.
GMK Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 You can invest in a Roth, but you have to have some earned income, because ... If you meet the eligibility requirements, the most you can invest in your Roth is your earned income, up to the federal limit (in 2013, $5500, or if you are at least age 50 by the end of the year $6500). http://www.ira-basics.com/roth-ira-eligibility/
