Guest WareJK Posted January 24, 1999 Posted January 24, 1999 Where can I find the historical COL percentages applied to IRC 415 max dollar limits? I need them to apply to deferred benefits after termination of employment. I think they are in Information Releases but are they on-line somewhere?
Guest WareJK Posted January 30, 1999 Posted January 30, 1999 I was given the answer so here it is: You can download CPI history directly from DOL (call 415-975-4567 .. a recorded message asks for a 4-digit code which is "9210" and your fax number. The computer sends the fax immediately.) You must average Jul-Sep for each year and derive the % increase by dividing the prior year ave into the current one. Prio to 1994 you averaged Oct-Dec.
david rigby Posted January 30, 1999 Posted January 30, 1999 I receive a yearly publication from the Society of Actuaries titled "Statistics for Pension Actuaries". It is indispensable; I use it every day. It contains pages of historical CPI information. It may also be online at the SOA website, not sure. Check it out. www.soa.org I'm a retirement actuary.
