mctoe Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Does anyone know what federal organization, if any, regulates governmental 457b plans? I believe DOL only regulates ERISA plans.
PensionPro Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 You mean other than the IRS? PensionPro, CPC, TGPC
mctoe Posted March 2, 2013 Author Posted March 2, 2013 Yes, other than the IRS. For example, where/who does a 457(b) participant get assistance from if a governmental 457 plan is not providing adequate disclosure/investment documents.
QDROphile Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Governmental 457(b) plans are regulated by state and local law and plan terms. You may have to go to the people who you believe are not acting up to standard, assuming there is a standard.
