Flyboyjohn Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 I'm consulting with sponsor of a 403b plan that's never had a plan document. Any EPCRS gurus out there know whether they can sign a good faith 403b document now (retro to 2009) and get the current $375 fee discount for late amender?
Lame Duck Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 I'm not a guru, but I believe they can. That is the position I am taking with one of my clients.
K2retire Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 I believe that discounted fee is available only until December 31, 2013.
masteff Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 This IRS submission kit is invaluable for filing the necessary VCP. We just used it at the non-profit where I'm currently employed. And yes, it has to be filed by 12/31/13 to get the reduced fee. Your 2 most likely delays are 1) the written document and 2) board adoption of the plan. We were able to get a written document from our current investment provider (for the price of committing to a small monthly fee). http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-tege/vcp_submission_kit_403b.pdf Kurt Vonnegut: 'To be is to do'-Socrates 'To do is to be'-Jean-Paul Sartre 'Do be do be do'-Frank Sinatra
