Guest Posted May 18, 2000 Posted May 18, 2000 Any of the Pension Services (CCH, RIA) should have the historical tables if you wanted to dig a bit, or you may try Social Security's Web site. ssa.gov
Guest John Coppa Posted May 18, 2000 Posted May 18, 2000 I am looking for the covered compensation tables for years in which the employee retired before 1999? I was wondering if there was a link to a web site that would have all or at least most of the tables? If anyone could help I would be greatful. ------------------ John P. Greg Judd Posted May 19, 2000 Posted May 19, 2000 I believe this may be what you're looking for (at the SSA site): Tax Rate Table & Maximum Taxable Earnings. [This message has been edited by Greg Judd (edited 05-18-2000).]
jlf Posted May 30, 2000 Posted May 30, 2000 Greg, what caused the wage base to go down from $76,600 in 1999 to $76,200 in 2000? [This message has been edited by jlf (edited 05-30-2000).]
david rigby Posted May 30, 2000 Posted May 30, 2000 The SS wage base has never gone down. I believe the wage base in 1999 was 72,600 and the wage base for 2000 is 76,200. I'm a retirement actuary. Nothing about my comments is intended or should be construed as investment, tax, legal or accounting advice. Occasionally, but not all the time, it might be reasonable to interpret my comments as actuarial or consulting advice.
Guest Brian4 Posted June 2, 2000 Posted June 2, 2000 "Covered Compensation" has a particular meaning for pension plans that recognize social security through the use of integration or permitted disparity. Is this the meaning the question referred to?
