Hattie Greenan Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Part of your fiduciary responsibility as a retirement plan sponsor is reviewing and benchmarking your plan. The Plan Sponsor Council of America has been providing the most comprehensive plan benchmarking data for nearly 60 years. Plans sponsors can get the data they need for free by participating in the survey. Respondents receive a copy of the report which contains 180 tables of data on the latest trends in DC plans including: Plan participation and deferral rates Average employer contribution rates and contribution formulas Number and type of investment options offered Investment monitoring policies and procedures and investment advice Participant education and communication Plan design features including Roth, loans, hardship withdrawals, and more Automatic enrollment and escalation features Plan administration practices Visit www.psca.org/58th_AS for more information.
david rigby Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Well, Hattie Greenan, even though you are a trade group, this sounds like marketing. If not, please enlighten the readers. I'm a retirement actuary. Nothing about my comments is intended or should be construed as investment, tax, legal or accounting advice. Occasionally, but not all the time, it might be reasonable to interpret my comments as actuarial or consulting advice.
Mike Preston Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 It definitely is marketing, but it is also informative. I'm on the fence, which is why I haven't deleted it........yet. david rigby 1
Hattie Greenan Posted August 17, 2015 Author Posted August 17, 2015 If it is inappropriate, please delete. A BenefitsLink staff member I have been working with told me to post something here as she thought it may be beneficial for your readers.
Dave Baker Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 The survey seems to have a great deal of information (180 tables) that looks to be useful and pertinent to plan administration/design, plus it's available essentially for free from the non-profit organization, so Lois and I thought it would be fit to post as a message to readers, though it's certainly something that is encouraging people to learn more about the organization (so I completely understand the concern about marketing on the boards, which is of course almost always out of bounds). david rigby 1
GMK Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 FWIW, the questionnaire was covered pertinent topics and was quick and easy to complete. I'd be interested to know if the tables include fee benchmarking data.
Hattie Greenan Posted August 18, 2015 Author Posted August 18, 2015 The published 58th Annual Survey report will not include fee benchmarking data. There is an optional fee question imbedded in the annual survey questionnaire however and this data will be used to create a separate fee benchmarking report. If you complete that question, you will receive that report free as well.
