Belgarath Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Please don't waste any time doing research if you don't know this off the top of your head, as I don't work with these forms and my question is purely for my own general information. For a small (<50) employer who has an INSURED plan - does the insurance company file both the 1094-B transmittal and 1095-B forms, so that the employer has no filing responsibility, or does the insurance company just PREPARE the 1095-B forms, and the employer still has the responsibility to actually prepare and submit the 1094-B transmittal and the 1095-B forms that the insurance company prepared? Same basic question for a large (ALE) employer? In other words, what responsibilities does the EMPLOYER have for insured plans? Thanks for any information - or do you know of a good, concise source/summary on this?
GMK Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 The insurance company does the "-B" forms. The employer does the 1094-C and 1095-C forms. Maybe not concise, but a useful reference is: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i109495c.pdf
hr for me Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 There is a handy dandy chart on this at: hsccpa.com/2015/01/2015/-employer-reporting-health-care-coverage-requirements/ I wish I could cut and paste but for some reason I can't on this site...... Hopefully I typed the link correctly
GMK Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 for pasting, it's that little switch in the upper left corner of the "Reply to this topic" window. Switch it up to paste and back down for the fancy word processing features. hr for me 1
