mwyatt Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 Just received email from CCA on 2021 EA meeting. Something seems to be afoot between AAA and CCA. "Due to current uncertainty related to the availability of the Marriott Wardman Park as well as uncertainty about the requirements that Washington DC will impose on large gatherings, the format and specific dates of CCA's Enrolled Actuaries Conference have not yet been determined. The CCA and the American Academy of Actuaries (Academy) have had fundamental differences that we have been unable to resolve regarding the manner in which the Enrolled Actuaries Meeting should be run in the future. As a result, there will no longer be a jointly sponsored Enrolled Actuaries Meeting, and we thank the Academy for their partnership with the CCA in the past."
Effen Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 Thing have been "afoot" for some time between the Academy and the CCA, as well as ASPPA. Academy likes the view from their ivory tower. david rigby Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 Not a good omen. I'm a retirement actuary. Nothing about my comments is intended or should be construed as investment, tax, legal or accounting advice. Occasionally, but not all the time, it might be reasonable to interpret my comments as actuarial or consulting advice.
