mwyatt Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 First, was sorry to hear of Mike Preston's passing. I had been using his PPA Present Values software for checking purposes for a number of years, and with his passing is no longer supported for interest and mortality updates. Any other standalone software alternatives that are recommended?
formeractuary Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 You can try EAC Tools: https://endresactuarial.com/index.html. I use it fairly regularly and have been impressed.
mwyatt Posted November 17, 2024 Author Posted November 17, 2024 Thanks for the recommendation, will check that out.
thepensionmaven Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Seems very professional, very useful for many calls; now I just have to figure out how to perform the calc I need! My actuary still used Michael’s program, just plugs in the segment rates.
EAC Posted April 25 Posted April 25 EAC Tools is an Excel add-in that handles all kinds of present value calculations. It lives inside of Excel and automatically adds itself to the Excel menu. The basic version has an annual license fee of $175, and the full version is $275. IMHO it is the state-of-the-art tool for actuarial calculations, present value, life expectancy, mortality tables etc. Here is the web site: https://endresactuarial.com Here is a web page containing the latest news and updates: https://endresactuarial.com/news.html Here is the User's Guide: https://endresactuarial.com/Help
