Guest laural Posted January 22, 2001 Posted January 22, 2001 For Family Life and Family AD&D coverage, does your plan document contain provisions for age reductions? If the answer is yes, who does the age reduction pertain to; the employee, spouse or dependent or all? Thank you for your responses.
Guest kclark Posted February 6, 2001 Posted February 6, 2001 We have separate carriers for Basic Life and Supp. Life/AD&D Insurance and each of them have a provision contained in their SPDs referring to reduction in coverage due to age. The SPD contains a reduction in schedule beginning at age 65. As far as I could see, this reduction only pertains to the employee's life and/or AD&D insurance. It pertains to both basic life as well as supplemental life and AD&D. Last year I discovered that our employees were not having the reductions in coverage applied and thus overpaid their deductions based on the un-reduced coverage amt. We had to do an audit for an entire 2-year period and refund the over deductions! Hope you didn't have that situation! Hope that helps.
