Guest CJK Posted March 2, 2001 Posted March 2, 2001 I am preparing to give a presentation to pension professionals on the topic of "ethics." I am now trying to explore the direction of my talk. If anyone has come across any articles, books, etc. on the topic of "ethics" please advise.
david rigby Posted March 2, 2001 Posted March 2, 2001 A few thoughts. Honesty never goes out of style. We had a session at the 1998 Enrolled Actuaries Meeting titled "Exercising Professional Judgement". Do you have a copy? I'm a retirement actuary. Nothing about my comments is intended or should be construed as investment, tax, legal or accounting advice. Occasionally, but not all the time, it might be reasonable to interpret my comments as actuarial or consulting advice.
Guest CJK Posted March 2, 2001 Posted March 2, 2001 I do not have a copy of that particular presentation. I will try to locate a copy. If I an unable to locate this document I may come back and request a copy from you.Thank you for inpu. It is much appreciated.
rcline46 Posted March 2, 2001 Posted March 2, 2001 Hi Chuck, Reed here. I would consider ethics in two situations: a) Between professionals in servicing the same client, whether consecutively or simultaneously; b) Between professionals and their clients. I really don't think an ethical person could be not ethical in either situation, but quick thinking on the topic leads me to think the ethics may differ in some fashion. But I leave that to the speaker - YOU! Hope the change is all you hoped for and more.
