AndyH Posted April 12, 2001 Posted April 12, 2001 1/1/2002 is getting much closer. Anybody hearing anything about what to expect in terms of timing? I'm concerned about not only cross tested DC plans, but also combination DB/DC plans. Plus, we also have GUST amendments to consider. My guess is another extension of everything, or at least the cross tested stuff. But, just a guess. Insights or thoughts?
Guest Posted April 12, 2001 Posted April 12, 2001 I suspect the proposed regs for the DC plan alone will stand. The DB/DC combo plan is being reviewed. ASPA (and others, I imagine) have provided some examples which show possible problems with the way the proposed regs work. There may be ome changed coming here.
MGB Posted April 13, 2001 Posted April 13, 2001 At the ALI-ABA meeting, Mark Iwry and James Holland addressed the regulatory projects due out this year. They stated they expect to "finalize soon" the proposed regs on new comparability. That was the only "soon" comment, so it must be at the top of the list. (See BNA Pension and Benefits Daily, 4/13/01, or the weekly which will carry the same story.)
