metsfan026 Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 Is anyone familiar with the NYS Comprehensive Contraception Coverage Act? I know the act allows for coverage of a contraceptive for 12 months at one time, but is it required that insurance companies comply? Or is it optional, where it can be allowed but it doesn't have to be? Thanks in advance!
Chaz Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 My understanding is that it is a requirement for New York insurers. Note that if the health plan in question is self-insured, it would not need to comply with the law because of ERISA preemption. Luke Bailey 1
