Craig Jacobs Posted October 11, 2023 Posted October 11, 2023 I may have missed it, but has the 417(e) applicable mortality table for 2024 lump sum distributions been published? Thanks!

Lois Baker Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 Scheduled for publication in the October 20 Federal Register: https://www.federalregister.gov/public-inspection/2023-23267/mortality-tables-for-determining-present-value-under-defined-benefit-pension-plans
Effen Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 Thanks Lois, but I think those are just the updated 430 tables. I don't believe the 417(e) table has been released yet. Slider Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 According to the preamble: "The modifications made by the Secretary to the section 430(h)(3)(A) mortality table to determine the section 417(e)(3)(B) applicable mortality table are not addressed in these regulations. Revenue Ruling 2007-67, 2007-2 CB 1047, describes the modifications that are currently applied to determine the section 417(e)(3)(B) applicable mortality table." Does that mean that we do the modifications ourselves? Or will IRS come out with a notice like last year (Notice 2022-22)?
Slider Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 Notice 2023-73 just released with 417(e) tables for 2024. NonObserver 1
