Sydney Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 I have a DB plan I have funded for 3 years. I want to continue to fund it, but maybe not at the same levels. Can I? Also, another option I am looking at if permissible is whether I could stop the funding of the plan now, or does that cause any inherent problems? Finally, can I at this time rollover all or part of the funds in the DB plan to an IRA or 401(k) plan. Thanks very much to this community.
Mike Preston Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 You should look to your actuary for guidance. Lou S. 1
Lou S. Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 The answer to most of your questions is "maybe". As Mike suggests you should discuss the options for the Plan's funding and possible in-service distribution options with your Plan's actuary who should have far more details than we would on this board.

imchipbrown Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 One participant Owner-Employee under $250k "retains Schedule SB info" but doesn't file. Collective Hmmmm.
Effen Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 Really Chip, what are you trying to say? Just because you don't have to file doesn't mean they don't need an actuary. You still must have a signed SB on file. david rigby Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 My spidey-sense suggests there may be relevant facts not yet presented. I'm a retirement actuary. Nothing about my comments is intended or should be construed as investment, tax, legal or accounting advice. Occasionally, but not all the time, it might be reasonable to interpret my comments as actuarial or consulting advice.
