  1. I was just reading this article http://www.proskauer.com/publications/clie...dren-to-age-26/ and it mentioned "HIPAA excepted stand alone dental and vision plans". I did a google search on the term "hipaa excepted stand alone dental" and it also found this page http://www.buckconsultants.com/buckconsult...47/Default.aspx which says I hope that helps.
  2. Can a plan that didn't exist on the date of PPACA enactment be considered grandfathered? Or will the grandfather status be determined by a different date?
  3. How are you getting to this? A stepchild is a child obtained through marriage. Since you are talking about domestic partners, you're not talking about marriage. Or am I missing something?
  4. If a local insurance agent is holding the funds, it kinda sounds like they may have just "borrowed" TASC's forms.
  5. Is it for a medical spending account or a dependent care account?
  6. Do you guys realize this thread is like 10 years old?
  7. You might want to review this booklet and call the Medicare Coordination of Benefits people and see what they have to say: http://www.medicare.gov/publications/pubs/pdf/02179.pdf From page 32 of the booklet If you have questions about Medicare and COBRA, call the Medicare Coordination of Benefits Contractor at 1-800-999-1118.
  8. If you had the Medicare prior to the COBRA, they still can't kick you off of COBRA, you can have both (as explained in the Q-A I posted already). Which one is primary becomes a whole new question that we probably don't have enough information to answer.
  9. Yeah, it would be so easier if everything would forget that confusing "entitled" word and just use "enrolled".
  10. No, they are wrong. Here is the law: http://edocket.access.gpo.gov/cfr_2005/apr...r54.4980B-7.htm 26CFR 54.4980B-7
  11. Someone posted in the database error thread that some timestamps have been off, so perhaps it is related to that. My post above was fine tho.
  12. Test. It is 2:43pm PDT
  13. She signed it, she's out of luck. Did you have open enrollment so she can elect it now? Have you considered requiring all premiums to be paid pretax so it won't be an issue in the future?
  14. I am reviewing our 5500s for last year and I noticed that our commissions on the various coverages range from 3% to 15%. I would really like to get that number down, but I don't know if this is something that is generally negotiable on my end as a plan sponsor, or if the carriers determine them without regard. Thank you.
  15. I've decided to say it as "pe-pack-a", in my head anyway. Or "healthcare reform".
  16. Good questions! Isn't it PPACA?
  17. My partner (works in IT) also recommends Malwarebytes.
  18. Since she had no children (and therefore no need of daycare) at the time of election, could you call it an administrative error and pay her back?
  19. http://www.treas.gov/press/releases/reports/section125.pdf Page 75
  20. The change matrix from my TPA clearly shows "No Change Allowed" for a Change in Wages. When is the spouse's open enrollment? Have they asked if they can drop him there instead?
  21. changeofstatus.com says you can drop coverage when "Employee Becomes Entitled to Medicare, Medicaid, or Other Federal/State Agency Benefits" but I'm not sure where they are getting the other part, as the actual reg seems to only mentioned Medicare and Medicaid.
  22. If you say you are eliminating FSAs then you would be getting rid of Dependent Care. Dependent care is a form of FSA. You just need to get rid of the health FSA.
  23. We are currently looking at this thing called Liazon, which has a website called Bright Choices (I think), and they say that there is built in decision helping stuff in there, but we are too new to the process at this point to really know anything about it.
