  1. Plan assets at BOY are 1,855,000. If the client has a bond with inflation guard, should I be reporting $185,500 coverage on 10(c)?
  2. Small client has closed his practice and was never enrolled in EFTPS. 2 participants have elected Lump Sum (total taxes round $2,000). Normally taxes have been paid with the 945 form. The accountant is questioning why we have to wait until January 2019 to submit the check and 945 voucher. Can the 945 be filed early??
  3. thanks - we have been filing the SF; however the question came up
  4. Looking for guidance on whether a 5500-SF can be filed even though a Schedule A is available. Example - John Hancock plans
  5. I have 2 companies on with 401k plan on Relius (ver 8.0). companies are now merging. Any ideas on how we can merge the data easily? One company has around 500 partic. and the other 70 or so. Thanks
  6. We have a number of small checks (approx 75) that are all under $200, many under $25 and about 10 under $1.00. It seems as though the cost of distributing these under $1.00 checks is higher than the check itself. Does IRS have any guidance on whether these small amounts can just be forfeited? Who would be thrilled to receive a check for $0.53?
  7. In my company (9 employees), the employer pays 100% of the cost for a single. If someone wants family coverage, they pay it through our 125 plan.
  8. Thanks for the input.
  9. It does sound weird; they DO want to allow loans, but don't want the employees to take them. I'm going to suggest that they they can limit the # of loans by only allowing for specific reasons.
  10. Trustee would like participant to sign something that says they agree to take the loan even though trustee advises against it. Any thoughts or examples?
  11. Thank you for your assistance.
  12. I received an attorney-drafted newsletter that stated that the individual limitation for fiscal year plans ENDING in 2004 is $41,000 (not counting the catch-up). (example for a plan ending 2/29/04 Normally this limitation would be used for plans BEGINNING in 2004. Does anyone have any more info?
  13. Thanks Tom, I will give it a try.
  14. I just received the year-end info from a client and there was a re-hire that I hadn't shown in the ADP test during the year. Of course now the test does not pass! I think that I remember reading that I can combine the deferrals and match to test them combined, can't I? Kind of like a QNEC? The match is fully vested and goes to all who defer, regardless of hours or termination. Thanks.
